Hoot & Howl In-Store Redesign
Project type
Visual Merchandising In-Store Design
Location
February 2023 - March 2023
In my Visual Merchandising class, I participated in an in-store design competition hosted by Hoot & Howl, where the owner, Stephanie, sought a solution to revamp her gallery wall as part of the store's expansion. The challenge was to create a design concept that would enhance the space's functionality and aesthetics.
I began by designing a detailed mood board to present the overall theme and visual direction. To bring the concept to life, I also created a blueprint for the structural elements, ensuring the design was not only visually appealing but also practical and adaptable for the store’s needs. Working within a budget of $500, I sourced materials and furnishings that would complement the store's style while remaining cost-effective.
After submitting my design, it was selected as one of the top three by both Stephanie and our professor. I presented my concept, which led to me winning first place for my creative approach and attention to both design and functionality.
